How to Find Happiness in Your Job

Regardless of what each individuals particular job entails it is inevitable that at some point the job will cause the employees to feel burned out or stressed. If you find yourself at this point in your career you should consider some simple stress management techniques to help make your day a little easier to handle. Those who find themselves able to successfully use stress management techniques in their work environment tend to experience more general happiness throughout their career. What these people do differently then most other employees include:


  1. Job crafting: manipulating tasks and interaction to make the work environment as favorable as possible even if the job they have isn't ideal.
  2. Having hope: having hope in your profession leads to more productivity and less mixed work days.
  3. Leveraging humor and positive emotion: humor increases positive emotion which helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in the workplace.
  4. Managing pessimistic thinking: avoiding pessimistic thoughts during setbacks and having a solution oriented outlook.
  5. Having self efficiency: performing tasks efficiently help boost productivity and overall confidence.
  6. Focusing on the upside of stress: viewing your stress responses in a positive light leads to less stress and anxiety and an increase in confidence.
  7. Staying on course: staying focused on long term goals increases passion and perseverance.
Those who are determined enough to be in charge of making their work environment one of health and happiness yield successful and desirable employees that improve the workplace and the work environment of those around them.
